- Welcome to the Print Settings files.
- FreeHand 7 PrintSet ReadMe
- October 1996
-
- Overview:
- The PrintSet directory consists of a set of files containing setup
- information that can be used to quickly recall options for the Print
- Setup dialog. These files have no effect on PCL or QuickDraw
- printing.
-
- How to use a PrintSet file:
- The installer places the files in a directory named "PrintSet."
- Additional PrintSet files that you create in FreeHand will also be
- placed into this directory.
-
- Glance through the PrintSet listing below and decide which PrintSet
- you need.
-
- Select the PrintSet file you wish to use from the Print Setting pop-up
- in the Print or Print Setup dialogs.
-
- The following PrintSet files are shipped with FreeHand 7:
-
- Normal - This is the default PrintSet, designed for printing to
- desktop printers.
-
- Draft - This PrintSet uses settings designed to print proofs quickly at
- reduced quality. Images are omitted, gradients are banded, and
- curved lines are given a high flatness value. Use the UserPrep
- MoreBand.prp on Windows with this PrintSet to
- get the fastest PostScript output possible.
-
- Hyphen - This PrintSet is designed for use with the Hyphen RIP.
-
- Quality PS Level 1 (Quality1.set on Windows) - This PrintSet is
- designed for use with high-resolution imagesetters that use
- PostScript Level 1.
-
- Quality PS Level 2 (Quality2.set on Windows) - This PrintSet is
- designed for use with high-resolution imagesetters that use
- PostScript Level 2. It improves printing speed by turning off Split
- Complex Paths, an option that is unnecessary with PostScript Level 2.
